RSD Update – 07/04/22

Greetings Pop Pickers,
We are just over two weeks out from this year’s event and, so far, we know that:
a) Surprisingly few lines scheduled for April have been put back to the 18th June drop.
These include Viktor Vaughn's "Vaudeville Villain" and Beth Orton's “Trailer Park”.
b) More Indie shops have signed up this year but as we thought, a good number do not seem to be stocking a lot for whatever reason. Always worth checking. This means we have better than expected allocations of some good lines: including, Alice in Chains, Beth Orton (central reservation), Blur, The Cure, The Damned, Bowie, Def Leppard, Dire Straits, Joni Mitchell, Lou Reed, Madonna, Nick Cave, Mel C, Motorhead, Primal Scream, Rolling Stones, Stevie Nicks, Sweet, U2 etc.
c) There are still some lines that have been cut sharply. These include, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Human League, Noel Gallagher. We will have supplies (subject to actual delivery) but an early arrival is recommended.
d) We are still awaiting confirmation for some lines so will not put out a price list just yet.
Those of you who come each year know we keep it competitive. Give us a ring if you want to know whether we are stocking a particular line or not.
e) The weather forecast is for hazy sun with intermittent cloud. Cool but crucially…NO RAIN!
f) The normal rule of no online flogging for a week after the event is reinstated after the end of pandemic restrictions; so we will open on the Sunday and Monday after Sat 23rd to enable you to get your hands on any remaining RSD stock and thus avoid delving into the dark side.
g) Some people remain concerned about Covid. If you do not want to come into the shop, you can let one of the guys on the door know and when you get to the front of the queue we can serve you at the door. It will have to be a cash transaction (we like cash) as we only have a fixed line chip n Pin machine.
h) We will wear masks in the shop. You are not forced to; but we recommend it.
i) Rules of the day: Eddie and John’s decision on what each customer group can have is final. Just try and be fair to others if there is still a queue behind you. As a rule of thumb, only one copy of any release to start with. We only mention this to cover very rare cases. Most people are great and very reasonable.
